Before the end of a SHRM cycle, confirm your PDC total, activity eligibility, reporting records, and recertification submission status.
Use the portal cycle dates
SHRM describes a three-year recertification cycle ending on the last day of the holder’s birth month in year three. Record the actual cycle shown in the certification portal instead of calculating from memory.
Track qualifying PDCs and final submission separately
A 60-PDC total is not the same as a completed recertification. Enter qualifying activities, review the portal record, submit the recertification application and complete the applicable fee step.
Treat the grace period as late recovery, not normal planning time
The current 60-day grace period follows the normal cycle end. Build a personal completion target before the cycle end so a missing activity or reporting issue does not push the process into grace.
