Do All States Require PE Continuing Education?

No. The current AISC matrix lists some jurisdictions without a mandatory PDH total, which is why engineers should check their own board rather than use a national assumption.

State rules control

Use the engineering licensing board for each state you hold. Total PDHs, ethics/state-law requirements, carryover, exemptions, accepted activities, and renewal periods can differ.

Track overlap deliberately

For multi-state practice, record the same course once but mark eligibility separately for every state rather than assuming a universal PDH value.

Keep audit evidence

Store the completion certificate, course description, provider, date, credit amount, and any board-specific evidence required by the jurisdictions you maintain.
