First determine whether carryover exists
Do not assume surplus credit moves forward. Verify whether the authority permits carryover and which activity categories are eligible.
Apply the cap and source-cycle rules
Record the maximum amount, the cycle in which the activity was earned, and any restrictions on carrying mandatory-category credit into the next period.
Keep surplus evidence even after renewal
If a later cycle relies on carried credit, retain the original completion evidence and the rule that allowed the carryover.
