The 2026 maintenance route is not universal
AWS launched the training/lab maintenance experience in open Beta on June 23, 2026 for a defined set of certifications, with additional certifications planned. Check that your credential is currently supported.
Timing and extension date
Eligibility starts when the supported active certification is within 90 days of expiration. AWS says completion extends the certification by one year from the maintenance completion date.
Other recertification options still exist
AWS continues to describe exam-based recertification and other qualifying paths for some credentials. Compare the available routes in your AWS Certification account before choosing.
